The Silver Lady Fund has proudly supported East Sussex Veterans Hub since its early days, helping the charity grow into a vital source of support for former service personnel facing some of life's toughest challenges.
Established in 2016, East Sussex Veterans Hub began with a simple but important mission: to help veterans experiencing poverty, homelessness and the lasting effects of military service. Recognising the unique challenges many veterans face when returning to civilian life, the charity set out to provide practical help alongside compassionate, ongoing support.
The Silver Lady Fund was pleased to provide funding during the charity’s formative years and has continued to support its work on several occasions as its services have expanded.
Today, the Hub offers a wide range of support, including a welcoming café where veterans can meet, socialise and access advice in a safe environment. It also provides drug and alcohol counselling, support for those living with PTSD, assistance with housing, budgeting and other practical issues that can help people regain stability and independence.
Now, less than a decade after it was founded, East Sussex Veterans Hub is taking another significant step forward with ambitious plans to create 20 self-contained flats, providing safe, secure accommodation for veterans who would otherwise have nowhere to call home.
